Elevated CRP

C-reactive protein (CRP) is a protein found in the blood that increases dramatically in response to inflammation in the body. Because of this correlation, CRP testing is often done to test for the presence of inflammation in the body. CRP levels are used to indicate infection following surgery, inflammatory diseases like arthritis, inflammatory bowel syndrome, autoimmune disorders, as well as the onset of metabolic syndrome.
